The Wildcats closed out their regular season home schedule with a rousing 61-46 victory over Northridge on Thursday night at Baggot Gymnasium. On Senior Night 2018 it was only fitting that a trio of seniors led the way for the ‘Cats as they avenged an earlier loss to the cross-town rival Grizzlies. Xavier Bonham, who signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at Black Hills State College on Wednesday, scored 16 points to go along with 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists to lead the ‘Cats. Samuel Perez added 14 points and 7 rebounds and Steven Maldonado chipped in 11 points.
While it is quite possible for the Wildcats to host a first round playoff game later this month, the eight Wildcat seniors who played their final regular season home game at Baggot are Bonham, Jaren Lesser, Maldonado, Perez, Jesse Rascon, Shukuru Rushanika, Drew Sedinger, and Brett Yackey.
The ‘Cats take their 7-5 conference record (10-11 overall) to Thompson Valley to face the Eagles on Monday night, then finish the regular season at Mountain View next Wednesday.
